Kainoa: 12 days old and GROWING!!!!! =)

Wow I'm getting SOOOO anxious for our little angel to come home soon!! He DOUBLED their weight expectation yesterday (they have a new goal for him everyday) and is no longer a "5 lb. baby" -- he weighed in yesterday at a whopping 6 lbs. 1.2 oz!!! Yay!! Good job, buddy! He continues to eat pretty good all by himself instead of relying on his feeding tube. In fact they are talking about taking the tube out today! While I was there last night I got to give him a bath. =) He did really well, he didn't scream like his sister used to do! What a good little boy he is. I'm so proud of him.

Here he is after his bath, and starting to let us know "ok guys, I put off eating for my bath, where's the food now?!"... =)

Yay! Kainoa is steadily gaining weight!

Today, he weighs 5 lbs. 14.7 oz! He is steadily gaining weight each day and eating 95% of his feedings on his own, without having to use the feeding tube! They mentioned possibly taking out his feeding tube tomorrow because he's doing so well! This is a HUGE step towards him getting to come home!!! So proud of my lil trooper! =)

Kainoa: 11 days old

Kainoa is gaining weight, yay!!! He actually passed his birth weight today!! He is doing well on his feedings -- taking most of them by himself and only having to supplement about 10% of the time with his feeding tubes. Our little man is such a trooper! Hopefully he'll be able to come home soon!

he looks so tiny compared to Daddy's hand...

BIG stretch!!!!

Daddy goes every day on his lunch break to spend time with his little boy (he even reads to him -- soooo sweet!)...

Lunch with great friends...

We went to lunch on Sunday with our wonderful friends, Daniel and Ashley and their kids (their baby Kloe is not pictured here -- what was I thinking?!!). They wanted to go visit Kainoa again so we decided to go to lunch first. It's so fun to have our kids around the same ages and see them grow up together -- they love each other. =)

Jaiden and Kealani. Who taught them to pose like that?!!! It looks like they are dating or something! LOL.

Jaiden loves him some "Uncle Noah"...

well, I'm guessing you know who these people are... haha...

Kainoa: 9 days old

Today Kainoa is back to his normal feedings and off of the IV -- yay!! He actually did pretty good on most of his feedings today, meaning he took most of them from his bottle instead of his feeding tube! =) His jaundice levels were checked for the last time today and they still went down so they are no longer going to have to keep track of that and it's official that they will not have to treat it! Woohoo -- what a fighter he is! =)

Here is Kealani kissing her baby brother. It's so sad that she cries and doesn't want to leave him everyday when we leave. She always cries and points and says "get him" and wants to take him home. She then has to kiss him a million times before we can pull her away. Breaks my heart, and yet so sweet at the same time. She's a great big sister already!

he's so little...

wide awake...

They are so alike!!

Kainoa: Day 8

Well, I got a call from the hospital in the middle of the night last night, letting me know that they are kind of concerned about his intestines because some green fluid they found in his feeding tube. They decided to not feed him all night to give his bowels a rest and see if that helps. Well, if he doesn't eat then they are worried about him getting dehydrated so then had to put him in IV fluids. So, now he has yet another tube and wire -- poor little man. =( They are slowly starting to feed him again today in hopes that everything is ok. Here are some pics from our visit today during Noah's lunch hour...
